Tech Test

The following questions are meant to test your problem solving and research skills. Try to finish everything within 1 hour. Make sure to read all steps before starting.

NOTE – This assessment is not to find if you are an expert in these areas, but rather it shows how you troubleshoot and try to solve problems. So if anything is not clear, please ask me. In fact, we encourage questions, but remember we can’t tell you how to do the test, just clarify some things. Also, if you can’t solve any of the tasks, no problem. Show us what you did to try to solve the problem and what road blocks you encountered. This will help us understand how you tried to solve the problem.

  1. What is the public IP address of the computer that you are currently working on? Put your answer, as well as your last name (format: LASTNAME – IPADDRESS), in the subject line of an email, and send it to
  2. Download the following spreadsheet, then find the duplicate model numbers. Then attach the list of duplicates in spreadsheet format to the email you will be sending in step 1 above. Note that you do not have to clean the list (i.e., if your list of duplicates is “modelA, modelB, modelA, modelA,” you do not have to delete the other instances of “modelA.”)

  3. Resize this image so that its width is 150px. Attach the 150px width image to the email you will be sending in steps 1 and 2 above.
  4. Download the following PDF, then edit it so as to delete the signature from the second page (Screenshot). Attach the edited PDF (without the signature) to the email you will send in steps 1-3 above.

  5. Setup a Google form to collect answers about Service Quality, then pretend we would send this survey out to clients so we can find out how they rate our service. Fill it out as a sample respondent, then find out the link to where the answers get collected. Put this link in the body of the email you will send in steps 1-4 above. The fields you need to put in the form are as follows:
    • Full Name
    • Email Address
    • Were you satisfied with the service provided in this call?
      • Answers: Yes, No
    • Did you find the representative helpful, respectful and professional in his/her dealings?
      • Answers: Yes, No
    • Rate our service 1 to 5, with 5 being the best.
      • Answer options: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
